Last month one of our surgeons, Dr Ken Stewart, went to Hanoi Vietnam under the auspices of the BFirst charity to undertake a workshop in ear reconstruction. In collaboration with colleagues from Los Angeles and Helsinki, Ken spent a week teaching local plastic surgeons at the Viet Duc University Hospital in Hanoi the art of ear reconstruction.
Now having lead two workshops over the course of the last year, Ken is confident that local doctors Tran Huyen and Nguyen Ha have mastered the skills to offer their local patients ear reconstruction. Ken was incredibly impressed by the work of his hosts and said "like planting in fertile soil, it's easy to teach such accomplished local surgeons”. We wish them the best of luck and hope to continue our ongoing friendship with these amazing surgeons!
